Winemaker Bryan Babcock invites you to embark upon
an exiting exploration into the world of TERROIR

The Terroir Extraordinaire Wine Program

A club for those that embrace the idea that a wine's true signature comes from the land. These wines are pure expressions of the unique soils in which they are grown. Because the terroir of each location is but a tiny slice within their greater vineyard, the production is very limited.

Throughout the year you can expect to receive approximately four to five shipments of two to three bottles of Terroir Extraordinaire wines with a 20% discount and detailed winemaker notes. The annual cost is approximately $370.00*. Only wines made for the Terroir Extraordinaire Wine Program will be included in shipments. However, as members, your 20% discount also applies to ALL of Babcock's Club Royale wines purchased directly from the winery. In addition, receive a 10% discount on Babcock logo merchandise.

What is Terroir?
In the world of wine, "terroir" is a French term that refers to an elusive concept that deals with the influence that a vineyard has on the wines that it bears. A thousand French winegrowers would give you a thousand different explanations. What is clear is that the most noteworthy vineyards impart distinct or provocative characteristics into their wines. While climate, geography and farming styles are all important, the general consensus is that the crucial defining factor boils down to one concept, soil. Describing a wine's terroir is like a description of its pedigree, not from the standpoint of grape varieties, but from the effect that the soil has on the grapes, and ultimately, the wines. This is the cornerstone of our new Terroir Extraordinaire program.

What is Terroir Extraordinaire?
Experience the "terroir" phenomenon up close and personal. These limited edition wines will be made exclusively for this program and will showcase the profound influence of their respective terroir.

Because not all vineyards or sections of vineyards are equal, Bryan has taken this program a step further, seeking specific sections within vineyards that excel and can be recognized with their own designations. For a preview of these exciting terroir and their designations, click here.
