Déjà vu, Pinot Noir
Rabbit Ridge Vineyard, Paso Robles
There was a part of me that wanted to call this new 2005 Pinot Noir Blasphemy. Why? Well, because when a died in the wool Santa Rita Hills boy introduces a new Terroir Exclusives wine club Pinot Noir, and the grapes are, of all places, from Paso Robles! That's blasphemy. So why commit such an act? Because of the mysteroius, age old familiarity that the noble variety Pinot Noir has with, here it is again, limestone. That's part of the Déjà vu. The other part has to do with how I discovered this magical fruit grown by the Russell family at the Rabbit Ridge Vineyard.
