Character abounds in the enchanting 1920s Mediterranean home of renowned winemaker Bryan Babcock and his wife Lisa. It is situated perfectly for exploring the spectacular Santa Barbara Riviera and nearby wine country. From the moment you drive up to the fragrant flower filled exterior and open the front door into the arched and tiled foyer, you may believe you have stepped back in time. Settle in front of the old world fireplace, central to the inviting, antique filled living room, open the French doors out to the expansive lawns and gardens, and stay awhile.

The warm colored dining room comfortably seats up to ten guests and is conveniently situated next to the gourmet kitchen. Well equipped, the cheery kitchen, with fantastic garden view, features a 6-burner Wolf range with double oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, and stainless refrigerator, as well as accessories for meal preparation and service. Adjacent to the dining area, is the large, cozy family room with views of the majestic oaks, flower garden, and fountain.  Curl up with a book or watch a movie in this gorgeous room with beamed ceiling and beautiful old world fireplace.

Upstairs, four charming and restful bedrooms await you. Three of the bedrooms have their own bathrooms. The master, with an en suite bathroom has a shower, garden view, television and romantic balcony. Another bedroom, also with   balcony, has a bath adjacent and a view of the rose garden. The third bedroom, with en suite bathroom and shower, has a beautiful antique bed and a relaxing view of the garden with the fountain below. Finally, the fourth upstairs room has a pullout couch, a small sunroom, perfect for reading, and a small half bath nearby.

Down a stone path, the two story guest cottage's charm is a reflection of the main residence. The upstairs is bright, with high beamed ceilings and is thoughtfully appointed with a queen bed, charming decor, and two sets of French doors leading to a large balcony.  There is a full bath upstairs as well, with a beautiful vintage tiled floor. The first level has a desk and a kitchenette with a small fridge, sink, coffee maker, microwave and toaster, with seating and a cute table perfect for a morning scone and coffee.

Parking is conveniently available near the home's front door, with room for a vehicle or two back by the guest cottage. If you prefer not to cook, excellent restaurants abound in one of America's most celebrated culinary cities, Santa Barbara.

What a wonderful retreat & marvelous home to celebrate our 4th child's graduation from Westmont College! With fires raging all around, we remained smoke free here at Valdemosa, under blue skies, with a moon that was full with red-orange hues. Everyone enjoyed the gardens; from 2 year old Shane playing in the sandbox & swings to my daughter's stroll through the rose-garden, to a simple game of bacci ball on the grass & finally a sip of Babcock wine on the patio in the late afternoon. The home was spacious for all, filled with eclectic pieces of furniture & an eye for classic decor.
